Biography
Guy Koenig currently serves as the Board Chair for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH), having previously served in other capacities, including Development and Finance, beginning in 2020. As board chair, Guy will provide leadership to the board, set strategic direction, ensure effective governance, and serve as the primary link between the board and the CEO/Leadership Team. Additionally, he will ensure the board functions cohesively to achieve the organization's mission.
In his professional life, Mr. Koenig serves as President of GSFSGroup, a consortium of finance and insurance-related companies owned by The Friedkin Group. Before joining GSFSGroup, Mr. Koenig served as President of AFG Companies (CareGard Warranty Services, Inc.), Chief Strategic Officer of AmTrust Financial Services, and Director of Business Development and Operations for a subsidiary of Bank of America. Mr. Koenig holds both a Juris Doctor and a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from Drake University. He currently resides in the Houston area with his wife, Julie, and two teenage children. In addition to serving on the BGCGH board, Mr. Koenig is a member of the Leadership Council for The Posse Foundation in Houston.
