At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to build a future filled with purpose and possibility. Through our Life & Workforce Readiness Positive Outcome Area, we empower teens to develop essential life skills, strengthen their leadership abilities, and connect their passions to real-world career pathways. From post-secondary planning and resume building to mentorship and hands-on career exploration, BGCGH equips youth with the tools they need to thrive in adulthood.

However, we know that too many tweens and teens still face barriers that limit their access to these life-changing experiences. Whether due to geography, lack of transportation, or other obligations, countless young people remain just out of reach of our physical Clubs. That’s why we’re taking a bold step forward.

In 2025, BGCGH launched the Remote Teen Club - a groundbreaking, technology-driven program that extends the reach of our Life & Workforce Readiness Positive Outcome Area to youth across the Greater Houston area. This innovative model will connect teens to the same high-impact programming, mentorship, and inspiration offered in our traditional Clubs, no matter where they live.

Through the Remote Teen Club, teens will be able to discover their career interests, develop critical workforce skills, and map out a clear plan to turn their dreams into reality, all within a flexible, supportive, and interactive virtual environment. Together with our partners and supporters, we are reimagining access, redefining opportunity, and ensuring that every young person has the chance to envision and achieve a great future.

CAREER SIMULATION

Through an innovative partnership with BridgeYear and their nationally recognized Career Test Drive® Program, career exploration is transformed into an immersive, hands-on learning experience. The Career Simulation initiative engages students in realistic, interactive activities that mirror the day-to-day responsibilities of professionals in a variety of high-growth, high-demand industries - from healthcare and construction to technology and public service. This experience helps students connect their personal interests and skills to viable career pathways, empowering them to make informed decisions about their futures. Career Simulations are offered at both the middle school and high school levels, meeting students where they are in their journey and inspiring them to envision what’s possible beyond the classroom.

CAREER EXPLORATION

For many young people, imagining a future career can feel overwhelming or out of reach. Through an innovative partnership with Level All, BGCGH is breaking down those barriers by providing teens and their families with personalized, on-demand guidance that helps turn aspirations into action.

This dynamic online platform offers access to a constantly evolving library of more than 12,000 engaging, easy-to-digest articles and videos, covering everything from emerging career pathways and leadership development to financial aid and essential life skills. Each resource is designed to meet youth where they are, helping them explore their interests, gain confidence, and make informed choices about their futures.

By integrating Career Exploration into our Life & Workforce Readiness initiatives, BGCGH ensures that every teen, regardless of background or circumstance, can access the knowledge, support, and inspiration they need to pursue a fulfilling and economically viable career path.

COMMUNITY

At BGCGH, connection is at the heart of everything we do. Through the Remote Teen Club, members aren’t just accessing programs, they’re becoming part of a vibrant community that supports, inspires, and uplifts them as they plan for their future.

In addition to our core Life & Workforce Readiness programming, Remote Teen Club participants can engage in a variety of enrichment and networking opportunities that expand and strengthen their sense of belonging. These include:

• Workforce panels featuring industry leaders and local professionals
• First job readiness programming that builds confidence and employability
• Community college and technical school visits that introduce tangible post-secondary pathways
• Military recruiter visits for youth exploring service-based careers
• “So You Want to Be a Successful YDS” sessions, designed to cultivate the next generation of youth serving professionals
