HOUSTON (July 22, 2025) — Chevron today announced a donation of $100,000, in honor of former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, to be shared equally among Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston and First Tee of Greater Houston. The organizations help provide learning opportunities and experiences to prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s careers.

As part of its commitment to making an impact in the community, Chevron proudly supports local youth programs that promote character development, mentorship and life skills through sports and education. Since 2020, Chevron has invested more than $250 million in education initiatives in the communities where it operates.

“Investing in the next generation of future leaders is one of the most powerful ways to make a positive impact,” said Mike Wirth, Chairman and CEO of Chevron. “Through this contribution, Chevron is proud to honor Dr. Rice and support two organizations that open doors for youth, promote leadership and inspire confidence, both on and off the course.”

Rice, the 66th U.S. Secretary of State, received this honor as the recipient of the inaugural Dinah Award, established by Chevron and Golf Digest this year to recognize individuals who have demonstrated the same attributes that helped Dinah Shore make The Chevron Championship a beacon for women in sport. Rice directed the entire amount toward two Houston nonprofits that share her belief in the transformative power of sport and mentorship.

“Sports have the power to teach discipline, teamwork and resilience — skills that are invaluable far beyond the field or fairway,” said Rice. “I’m honored to support organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs and First Tee that give young people in Houston and around the country the opportunity to grow, learn and lead.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston has long been a safe haven and resource for thousands of children and teens across the region, while the First Tee of Greater Houston uses golf to build character and strengthen life skills among youth from all backgrounds.
